About Me

Welcome!

I am so glad you are here

What is Generation Alpha? According to Mark McCrindle who founded generationalpha.com and actually coined the term, it is a child born between 2010-2025. They are also considered the glass generation because they will be completely reliant on their glass covered devices for their entire lives. They are also the next generation of technology, where they will have grown up in a completely technologically saturated world.

I am Amanda, but people call me Mandi. I hold a BA in Media Studies with a concentration in Photography. I have worked in childcare and was a nanny all thorugh college. I am a certified teacher in Elementary grades K-6 and I’ve also been a mother for 13 years.  As a mother, you hold several positions.  Actually, you feel like you run a hotel, a restaurant and a taxi stand all at the same time. housekeeper, EMT, chef and just about everyone’s woman. My favorite things in life are photography and cooking and living a healthy lifestyle. But first, before anything I do, I am a mother.

I had to get rid of all the plastic straws and replace them with reusable stainless steel ones to do my part to help save the turtles. I mean, I’m kind of happy that scrunches came back, they really do hold up my hair well. And it’s nice to have your child really care about our environment because whether or not you pay attention to our current situation; we are facing a serious problem which means our children will be facing an even more serious one. From melting ice caps to the ozone layer basically disintegrating, we might have to try and establish a civilization on Mars. Then there is the information science. The technology today is pretty awesome but it is kind of scary if you think about it. My 7 year old is taking a coding class! I will be hiring him out of middle school as web designer for my consulting business. I love that I can tell my personal assistant (Alexa) to put something on my shopping list and help me with some 7th grade homework or to even remind me to pick the middle child up at the bus but what does that say for the children born in this generation? Gen alphas will have so much at their fingertips, they probably will be driving cars that fly

Millennials are having babies now and becoming parents, which is freaking out the Boomers because according to them, they are the laziest generation on the planet with no direction in life. Yet, who do they go to to help them figure out how to search something on their iPhone?

You don’t have to be perfect

There is so much out there with this age of technology and there is so much pressure to be the best or have your child be the best and we tend to what I call “over-mom.” The best thing you can do as a parent it’s not what you can do for them, it’s what you can teach them to do for themselves.

We just need to get it on the table and try to be present.

We are here to help! (and hopefully make you laugh)

We are here to help lighten the load of being a parent in this ever changing social trending world and give you resources you don’t have time to research.  There is no way to deny we have an ever evolving social change in climate. We are here to make you smile and to remind you that it’s ok to make mistakes and you don’t have to raise perfect tiny humans.

If you ever need a hand or have ay questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,

Amanda
